Urban monument area in the center of Prešov conceals several architectural treasures. One of these is the palace of the powerful and wealthy Rákoczi family considered in its time the most beautiful Renaissance townpalace in the throughout the Upper Hungary. Today the building houses the Regional Museum of Prešov. Diversified exposure of this museum make the visitor familiar with the history of the city from ancient times to the early 20th century, introduce him to contemporary living, military and fine arts. In the museum is also avaluable collection of historical clocks and also department dedicated to traditional folk culture Šariš, which includes a permanent exhibition of unique soľnobanská bobbin lace.
